Graphic design is currently in a very exciting stage around the world. Not only has it become incredibly easy and accessible for non-professionals, but technology has allowed for some incredibly complicated and advanced designs to be created.
2019 saw some great innovations in the design world, with some very exciting design trends capturing the attention of designers and consumers alike. But what does 2020 have in store for us?
We wanted to find out and share with you some of the big design trends we are getting excited about in 2020.
3D and Realism
In 2019 3D rendering was extremely popular across many outlets, such as video, web design and images. So you can expect this trend to carry on strongly into 2020, especially as software and technology advances and the ability to make more complex details becomes possible.
Black and White and Monochrome
Back in 2017, there was a big duotone craze that could be seen everywhere from websites to leaflets to cars. This has been steadily evolving and now monochrome is very much on trend. This trend coupled with timeless black and white themed design has been growing in the later stages of 2019 and now it looks set to take 2020 by storm.
Typography
Fonts are a big deal at the moment, and designers it would seem are constantly working and experimenting with new fonts. Geometric shapes and floral elements have made their way into the design process for many new forms of typography. Moving into 2020, fonts are expected to be big and bold, spilling out of frame and using the space to its fullest.
Simplified Illustrations
Illustrations are getting more streamlined and become more aesthetically simplified. For example, line art has been on the rise recently, as well as simple graphics and infomercials. Gone are the days of over complex designs, people want to see clear and simple graphics nowadays.
